What is the main material of GI coil?

GI coil is a new type of metal material. It is to put a very thin steel plate into liquefied zinc so that the steel and liquid zinc react through immersion so that a thin layer of zinc is attached to the surface of the steel. GI coil is made of hot-rolled steel sheets and galvanized coils are widely used in various materials.

The main raw material of GI coil is zinc alloy, and the production process is continuous galvanizing. There are many types and models of galvanized coils. We mainly classify them according to their properties. We usually use numbers. GI coils are still popular today for their good airtightness and weldability. Similarly, nothing in the world is free from defects, and the same is true for GI coil. Its disadvantages include exposed steel, inclusions, mechanical damage, etc., which are mainly caused by surface oxidation.

Alloy galvanized steel sheet. This kind of steel panel is also made by hot-dip plating, but it is heated to about 500℃ immediately after coming out of the tank, so as to form a zinc and iron alloy film. Galvanized sheet has good coating tightness and weldability; electro-galvanized steel sheet. Galvanized steel sheets produced by electroplating have good processing properties. However, the coating is thinner and its corrosion resistance is not as good as that of hot-dip galvanized panels. Single-sided and double-sided differential galvanized steel sheets. Single-sided galvanized steel sheet, that is, a product that is galvanized on only one side. It has better adaptability than double-sided galvanized sheet in welding, painting, antirust treatment, processing, etc.

In our daily life, we can often see items made of galvanized coils, but many times people don't recognize them. For example, most items such as kitchen sinks are made from galvanized coiled tubing. Although GI coil is widely used, it also has many disadvantages. For example, zinc as a coating has the risk of peeling off. Long-term storage can also cause oxidation of GI coil. Therefore, normally, manufacturers do not store GI coil for more than 3 months

The annual output of GI coil is particularly large, and the consumption is also particularly large. The main reason is that the production of hot-dip galvanized sheets has increased year by year. Galvanized sheets are imported from abroad and produced domestically, but the quantity of domestically produced galvanized sheets is relatively small, and the content is also decreasing year by year. Therefore, China's galvanized sheet mainly relies on foreign imports. Although the cost of galvanized sheets imported from abroad is relatively high, in order to meet the needs of users, the annual import quantity is still large, and the quantity is still increasing year by year.
